It looks like tomorrow weather permitting Iris and Lucy and me are going to be dancing at Eddie Walker's place. Anyone who wants to join the fun is more than welcome.
Eddie is buying lunch!
Actually I got a friend who was looking for pine logs together with Eddie. It was a win-win situation for each of them.
So tomorrow I'm going to be loading and hauling logs out of Eddie's way and giving my friend some material to work with his new mill.
So if any of you in the area want to join in the fun there will be enough to go around.

Here's Eddie and four out of five soon to be TBN members about six or so last evening.
Craig is a friend and the builder of the new log home. He brought along four of his ten kids. That's his Kubota backed up to Iris.
We were talking about having a TBN get together and have Craig demonstrate preparing logs. He not only has the mill to make them into lumber, he knows how to make square beams using only string lines and a chain saw.

Lucy didn't get stuck.
But the trailer did.
Eddie came to the rescue with his itty bitty teeny tiny dozer.

Iris got to have a ball. She loves stacking things.

I think logs can be considered a "thing".

The first load was logs Craig had drug to the staging area.

It was a three hour round trip from Eddie's to Craig's. We made two loads with the logs and one with the tractors.
My day started leaving the house shorty before five and I got home shortly before ten last night. It was a very good day, had a lot of fun, and drove almost five hundred miles.
Here's the logs at the new staging area at Craig's.

We checked the rings and counted about twenty or so on most of the logs we checked.

|
 |
The logs were really too long for the trailer, but not for long!
|
|
 |
Yup, some of them were a little long!
Not too long for Iris. Lil squatty baughtty could handle'em though!

Yup, we had allot fun, plus I got rid of some trees! Two big loads and another waiting to go. That's some serious progress.
Here's Harvey loading them up.

One of the fun things about watching Harvey and Iris work is how fearless they are. He just pushes her to the limit and she keeps on going. Two wheels are almost always on the ground. The higher she lifted those logs, the more fun we had watching.

Closer view of Iris in action.

The first few logs that Harvey trimed only needed a few feet cut off. The really long ones needed close to twenty feet taken off. Too much to try and jump away from when it hits the ground, so here's a helping hand.

After trimming logs that were already on the trailer, it was decided it would be better to cut them before loading them.

The second load is on it's way.
